The complete end of lease cleaning checklist for Sydney renters

Use this checklist to discuss scope with your cleaner. It is not a statement of tenancy obligations or a bond guarantee. Check your lease, condition report and relevant tenancy authority for your situation.
Kitchen: ask about the stovetop, rangehood, oven interior, cupboards, drawers, sink and splashback. Confirm whether appliances and the property need to be empty.
Bathrooms: list the shower screen, tiles, grout, bath, toilet, basin, mirrors and exhaust covers. Explain existing damage or areas needing specialist attention.
Bedrooms and living areas: specify floors, skirting boards, wardrobes, window tracks and accessible light fittings. Confirm what can safely be reached.
Extras to price explicitly: carpet steam cleaning by room, oven interior, windows by count and access, balconies, garage, blinds and wall marks. Do not assume these are included in a standard clean.
Before booking, confirm size, condition, access, utilities, parking and inclusions in writing. Ask how additional work and any return visit are agreed and charged.
