Privacy Policy

What we collect: Service details, location, price, and evidence for submissions. Name and email for contact. Quote Check inputs are processed but not permanently stored.

How we use it: Aggregated, anonymised pricing ranges. Contact details for communication only. Never sold to third parties.

What we never do: Sell personal info. Sell contact details to providers. Share individual submissions. Target advertising.

Access, correction and deletion requests: Contact hello@faircost.com.au with your submission reference. Do not send passwords or unredacted payment information.

First-party action measurement: We count quote checks, submission starts and approvals, calculator interactions and CSV responses. These event records contain an action name, a broad page category, a timestamp and limited fixed labels. They do not contain quote text, amounts, contact details, IP addresses or a persistent visitor identifier. This collection respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for browser actions and downloads. Separate hosting and analytics services may process technical information under their own settings.

Quote reading and device records

AI quote reading: When you choose Read quote amounts, the pasted text or selected file is sent through our server to Anthropic for extraction. Remove personal details before sending it. This route does not save the quote as a contribution or write its contents to our database. Anthropic processes the request under its applicable service terms; do not assume the processor deletes it immediately. The on-screen result is a draft for you to verify.

Submitted evidence: Sending the contribution form is separate from reading a quote. Contributions and optional evidence are stored using Supabase; uploaded evidence is private and opened by authorised reviewers. A supplied email may be used for a receipt and review updates through our configured email service. We have not implemented a fixed automatic deletion period for submitted records; contact us about retention or deletion.

Device-only tools: Home notes and the paid-job tracker use browser local storage. They are not account-synced or sent as submissions. Clear them with the page controls or browser settings. Exported files remain wherever you save them, and clearing browser storage does not delete those files. Quoting checklists are downloaded locally. Anyone with access to your browser or exported files may read them.

Local preferences: The browser also remembers recent service and city preferences and visit counters locally. These are separate from first-party action events and can be removed by clearing site data.

Shared links: Sharing a tool setup places its selected details in a URL. Anyone receiving the link can read those details. Avoid private information in scope notes and shared requests.

Publication: Approved contributions may qualify for anonymised aggregates after further evidence and cohort checks. Publishing an individual job example requires separate recorded permission. Submitting evidence is not permission to publish the document.

Entry source: For browser action counts, we keep a broad search-referrer, external-referrer or direct/unknown label in session storage for the tab session. No referrer URL, search terms or visitor identifier is saved. Privacy signals and the audit exclusion control suppress this measurement. It does not identify people or establish an organic conversion rate.
