Monthly prize draw

Every price we verify goes into that month's draw for one $250 gift card. One prize per month. No purchase, no fee, no account needed to enter.

How you enter

1. Submit a price you were quoted or paid. Three fields are required: the service, the amount and the date.
2. A reviewer checks the record. You get one entry when a submission is approved — not when it is sent. Submissions that are rejected, or left unresolved as duplicates or outliers, do not earn an entry.
3. Include an email address if you want to be contacted. We cannot notify a winner who did not leave one.

Entries are earned on approval rather than on submission so that the prize rewards accurate contributions rather than volume. That protects the data everyone else relies on.

The details

• Who can enter. Australian residents aged 18 or over, except anyone involved in running FairCost or the promotion, and their immediate families.
• Cost. Free. There is no entry fee and nothing to buy.
• Entries per person. One entry per approved submission. There is no cap on how many separate genuine prices you contribute, but duplicate records of the same job earn one entry at most.
• The period. Each calendar month is a separate promotion. Entries are assigned to the month in which the submission was approved, in Australia/Sydney local time. Entries do not carry over.
• The draw. One winner is drawn at random from all entries for the period, within 7 days of the period closing. The draw is conducted by FairCost and the result is recorded against the period.
• The prize. one $250 gift card, value A$250. Not transferable and not redeemable for cash. Gift card terms are set by the card issuer.
• Notification. The winner is contacted using the email address on the winning submission, within 7 days of the draw. If we cannot reach a winner, or no valid email was supplied, within 30 days the prize may be redrawn from the remaining entries for that period.
• Your details. Contact details are used to run the draw and to follow up on your submission. They are not published, sold or attached to any published price. See the privacy policy.
• Changes. If the prize or the schedule changes, this page is updated before the affected period opens. A period already open is not changed once it has begun.
